Elementary & Junior Division (5-8th grades)
All elementary & junior division projects must have the Grades 5-8 Form (Spanish) filled out (this form does not register you) and turned in to your supervising teacher at your school. As part of the registration process, you will need a project abstract (see below), and parent information for all students in your project group. Do not use a school email for registration as you will not be able to receive emails from the SLCharter directors. Use a personal or parent email address.
Senior Division (9th-12th grades)
All senior division (9-12) projects must have ISEF paperwork complete, and uploaded to the USEF portal by the day of the SLCharter Fair, in order to advance to the regional fair. As part of the registration process, you will need a project abstract (see below), and parent information for all students in your project group. Do not use a school email for registration as you will not be able to receive emails from the SLCharter directors. Use a personal or parent email address.

ABSTRACT
An abstract is a short summary of your project. It should be 250 words or less and briefly describe your hypotheses, methods, results, and conclusion, all in past-tense. Please use Microsoft Word or another word processor to write your abstract, then copy it from there and paste it into the appropriate field on the online registration form. Include the following:
1. Purpose of project/experiment: In a sentence of 25 words or fewer, explain the reason for your research project or a hypothesis you selected to test.
2. Methods of research: Explain in a sentence or two how you performed your experiment.
3. Data/Observation: What type of data did you collect and what difficulties did you encounter during your research?
4. Conclusions/Applications: Explain in a sentence or two what results your research produced. What conclusions can you form and what real-world applications can be made?

Payments
- All projects moving on from their school fairs, must be registered and paid by the stated deadline above. The cost is $15 per student (not per project).
- Individuals paying for their own entry, will pay their school directly. Schools will pay a lump sum for the registrations to the SLCharter Fair. Please contact us with any questions regarding payment.
